SPECIALIST INTEREST AREA

As podiatrists that specialise in sports injuries and sports people we use a variety of different insoles in the shoes we call Orthotics.
Orthotics are specialised insoles worn in shoes to enhance lower limb function.
At TSP, we use a selection of both custom-made and pre-fabricated orthotics.
The type of device will depend on the particular injury, foot type, age, footwear, and activity of the person. Orthotics form part of a treatment plan to overcome injuries or reduce further injury risk.
Foot orthoses can be made from a variety of materials and may be made from a cast or 3D scan of a person’s feet (custom-made) or may be pre-fabricated (off the shelf). In the case of prefabricated devices the Podiatrists will often make on site modifications to ensure they are more specific to the patient.
The cost involved will vary greatly depending on what needs to be done but may be covered in part by a patient’s Private Health Insurance.
Total Sports Podiatry specialises in sports specific and comfortable orthotics.
TSP use digital technology as well as hands-on assessments to analyse the function of the foot & leg and the effect that it has on the rest of your body.
